SAFERTEK's Origins. In 1999, Maruti Tangirala, an alumnus of BITS Pilani and The University of Texas at Arlington, observed that many enterprises were developing custom business software tailored to the specific needs of individual departments, but were struggling with point-to-point integration challenges. To address this issue, SAFERTEK was founded with the mission of creating unified SAFER (Scalable, Available, Flexible, Extensible, Reliable) technology solutions. These solutions were designed to ensure business continuity, profitability, and growth, enabling enterprises overcome the limitations of fragmented systems.

SAFERTEK’s Beginnings. In the early 2000s, as the internet gained widespread adoption among businesses, few software companies were addressing the specific challenges of American cabinet manufacturers and distributors. To fill this gap, SAFERTEK began developing UFACTORY, a ground-up, industry-specific software solution. Working closely with wood products manufacturers, SAFERTEK focused on understanding and solving their unique challenges. In 2004, UFACTORY was successfully launched with its first wood products manufacturer, and over the years, it evolved into a comprehensive business solution, being adopted by more cabinet manufacturers and their distributors.

SAFERTEK's Breakthroughs. In 2009, a leading regional grocery retailer faced challenges with siloed software systems and integration issues in their legacy and in-house supply chain software. Realizing the need for a modern solution, the retailer adopted UFACTORY (rebranded as UWARE) to streamline its end-to-end grocery manufacturing, wholesale, and retail operations. This transition led other grocery wholesale distributors to embrace UWARE for its integrated capabilities in order fulfillment, procurement, and accounting within a unified ecosystem. By 2016, UWARE had been adopted by the second-largest grocery retailer, attracted by its comprehensive features and ease of use in driving wholesale business growth.

SAFERTEK's Beyond. By 2025, UFACTORY | UWARE had gained widespread adoption among manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers. In response to evolving market demands, SAFERTEK re-engineered its flagship product into UWAREONE, a cloud-native application built using open-source technologies for deployment in a multicloud environment. This strategic move empowers SAFERTEK to help thousands of American manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers in modernizing their legacy software, giving them a significant competitive edge in the global marketplace.
